Hi, nice to meet you!
I’m Helen.
A busy, working mum who loves to help other women juggle family and careers to get what they want.
As a business consultant I spent many years helping organisations set winning strategies and achieve their goals. Then I decided it was time to turn those skills to help professional mums.
After all, many organisations owe their success to the army of working mums who keep them marching, so it's important that women feel like they are winning too, right?
I’ve worked for banks in New York (JP Morgan / Credit Suisse), media outlets in London (The Guardian), not for profit organisations in Auckland (Plunket / Netsafe), gym chains in Shanghai (Les Mills / Fitness First) and even random home stationery companies in Paris. To name but a few!
Since being a mum i have held down big jobs, many of them even when i became a solo parent. These included:
Programme managing a major productivity programme for a leading bank, reporting directly to the CEO
Managing the Auckland team of a consulting firm whilst also working on many major projects around the country
Project managing the startup of a new government backed agency with only a 6 month timeframe
Leading a team of Online Safety professionals through the distressing aftermath and difficult workload resulting from the online streaming of the Christchurch terrorist attacks as Director of Operations of a 364 days p.a. contact centre.
So I know what it takes to still succeed while holding it all together at home. At least that’s what it felt like in all honesty, until i managed to progress to doing more than just surviving at home and instead thriving both in and out of work.
What I believe in.
Being a persistent juggler of many passions keeps me sane.
There are never enough hours in the day and days in the week to do everything I want to do!
But I am determined to cram as much into life as I can because when it’s gone, it’s really gone!
As a former personal trainer and Les Mills instructor sport and fitness are non negotiable, although my Ironman days may be behind me! Having travelled to over 60 countries and lived in many, exploring new places in “family mode” took adjustments but we get our adventure fix more and more these days. I also feel keenly about giving back to the community and swapped volunteering at Ronald McDonald house for baking for Good Bitches Baking so my daughter could be involved too.
Most importantly I believe that all mums are superheroes.
Truly, i believe mums hold the world together. Sometimes it feels like it’s with band aids, but we still do.
Yet at the same time in today’s world the pressures and expectations on mums to “have it all” are, in my opinion, unrealistic and unhelpful.
That doesn’t mean, however, that you can’t have what you want and when you want it. There is a difference.
Finding time is the biggest challenge of all mums so i have come up with tools which help busy working mums accomplish what they want in their time constrained world.
Which brings me to YOU.
